Multi-storey apartment blocks (social housing) - Construction Area B.

Called Karréebyen “Construction Area B”, the development is a series of blocks of flats (social housing stock) consisting of 117 apartments (approx. 9,800 m²). Karréebyen is inspired by the “Brokvarteret” (bridge district). The blocks of flats will be designed differently – depending on the urban context. 

Further along towards Søren Frichs Vej, they will be designed with high ground floors, which can be used as commercial premises or as homes. Towards Søren Frichs Vej the stairwells for the apartments will be positioned facing the street and there will be spaces for benches and for parking bicycles.

The social housing stock will be built for the housing associations “Al2bolig” and consist of 117 apartments and a 859 m² basement. The development uses the “delegated developer model” because public authority support is involved. The architect is Luplau / Poulsen and the engineer is SWECO.
